“President-elect Donald J. Trump dismissed Meryl Streep as ‘a Hillary lover’ early Monday morning after the actress, in a speech at the Golden Globes award ceremony [Sunday], denounced him as a bully who disrespected and humiliated others,” reports Patrick Healy in The New York Times.

Streep called out Trump for mocking a disabled reporter. Says the Times, “Mr. Trump, as he has done many times before, grew heated in the interview as he flatly denied that he had intended to make fun of the Times reporter, Serge F. Kovaleski.

The Times quotes Trump saying: “I was never mocking anyone. I was calling into question a reporter who had gotten nervous because he had changed his story.” The Times adds that Trump was “arguing that the reporter had been trying to back away from an article he wrote in September 2001 about the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and elsewhere that month.”

The Times also quotes Trump saying in the interview: “People keep saying I intended to mock the reporter’s disability, as if Meryl Streep and others could read my mind, and I did no such thing.”

  1. Streep is just another dried up has been who believes she has something important to say. How can you have anything important to say when you are no longer relevant. She should find a very high cliff somewhere desolate and walk off it. No one would miss her. No one would care.

  2. I’m sure the President-Elect couldn’t care less about what a prune faced hollywierd hag has to say about him…

  3. Joseph, your comments about encouraging Streep would kill herself when she is making a commentary about bullying is wonderfully ironic.

I honestly don’t really have feelings for either Trump or Streep, but I cannot understand why one human being would want to see another dead. Y’all got problems

  4. Whether you like her or not, Meryl Streep continues to win acting awards each season and was given a Lifetime Achievement award last night, so it’s hard to argue she is a “has been”.

But it is interesting to watch the types of sentiments expressed by Trump supporters against any person who is anti-Trump. They use the same tactics Trump uses: simply call the person irrelevant (as Joseph did), and/or attack their physical appearance (as Deb did, which is also comical considering how attractive DJT is). Step 2 is a requirement if the person is a woman.

  5. He has time to tweet all night, but hasn’t bothered to pay much attention to the job he was supposedly elected to do. He’s ordered all ambassadors home by inauguration day, but has only chosen 2 ambassadors to date. Etc Etc Etc
