Hollywood’s Outpouring of Love for Mary Tyler Moore

News of the death of Mary Tyler Moore triggered grief and an outpouring of love for the TV icon, with many who knew and worked with her taking to social media to express their feelings.

Ed Asner, who starred with Moore on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” had a photo of himself with Moore on his Twitter account and sent out a series of tweets, writing in part: “#marytylermoore my heart goes out to you and your family. Know that I love you and believe in your strength.”

Dan Rather tweeted: “I’m deep in regret about the passing of Mary Tyler Moore. What an actress. What a woman. What a person. Always gracious, filled w/good humor.”

“Orange Is the New Black” actress Uzo Aduba posted a Twitter message saying: “‘Who can turn the world on with her smile…” #MaryTylerMoore may she rest.”

Ellen DeGeneres tweeted: “Mary Tyler Moore changed the world for all women. I send my love to her family.”

From Britney Spears: “So strong, so courageous and so beautiful. Rest In Peace, Mary Tyler Moore.”

Actor Michael Keaton tweeted: “Mary(MTM) was a gem. She was iconic, my boss, cast mate and a friend and I will miss her.”
