A man who is suspected of making alterations to the landmark “Hollywood” sign has been arrested, the AP reports.

“The LAPD said in a statement that 30-year-old Zachary Cole Fernandez was arrested Monday, just over a week after a prankster used white tarps to make the ‘HOLLYWOOD’ sign read ‘HOLLYWeeD,'” the story reports. “Police say Fernandez turned himself in with his attorney and was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing.”

The prank was presumably a tribute to California’s new recreational marijuana law. The stunt took place early on New Year’s Day, when a prankster dressed in black was captured by security cameras modifying the sign.

“Fernandez, an artist, had already claimed credit for the stunt in a Vice magazine interview, but police had not previously confirmed his involvement,” the AP notes. Fernandez was expected to be released on his own recognizance and is due in court Feb. 15.
