Report: Marvel Entertainment Billionaire Set to Become Key Trump Aide

President-elect Donald Trump is said to be dipping into the liberal bastion of Hollywood for at least one more key appointment, with The New York Post reporting that Marvel Entertainment billionaire Ike Perlmutter is set to join trump’s veterans affairs staff.

“The comic book king, who parlayed his ownership of Marvel into a large independent stake in Disney, is best known for being a recluse,” The Post reports. “News organizations have almost no images of the 74-year-old executive, though a photographer nabbed a shot of him standing next to Trump at a window at Mar-a-Largo in December.” (Click through to The Post to see that photo.)

The report quotes a source saying: “He’s becoming a key adviser on veterans’ health care.”

The Post adds: “The Marvel money man, who is a neighbor of Trump’s in Palm Beach, is a backer of university hospitals and wants to see veterans taken care of. Perlmutter himself was a soldier in Israel’s Six-Day War back in 1967, we’re told.”

The report notes that other Tinseltown executives are also on board with Trump. “His aides include former Relativity studio co-Chairman Steven Mnuchin, who is lined up to be the next Treasury Secretary,” The Post notes. “Former Miramax owner and PE investor Tom Barack of Colony Capital is on the inauguration committee. Also helping organize the festivities is MGM executive and producer Mark Burnett.”

  1. So funny that all of Trump’s supporters deride Hollywood-types for offering their opinion of the President Elect, while Trump is busy filling up his cabinet with Hollywood execs.
