A new comedy series from Jamie Foxx has received a series order, with former “Saturday Night Live” regular Jay Pharoah set to return to TV to star in the project.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Showtime handed a series order to the project, “White Famous.”

The comedy “hails from ‘Californication’ grad Tom Kapinos, who penned the script for the series,” THR reports. “The project is based on an original idea by Jamie Foxx and his experiences coming up through the business. The comedy marks a return for Kapinos to Showtime following his seven-season run on the David Duchovny-starring series ‘Californication.'”

The show, which focuses on a young, upcoming comedian (Pharoah), will be a co-production between Lionsgate Television and Showtime.
