‘Survivor’ Contestant Dead at 40

A former contestant on the CBS reality staple “Survivor” died unexpectedly at the age of 40 on Dec. 31. People reports that it has confirmed the death of Dan Kay.

Kay was a participant in “Survivor: Gabon,” which aired in 2008. He lasted until Day 21 on the show before becoming the eighth person voted off the series that season.

Kay, who was 32 at the time the show was taped, was an attorney from Brookline, N.H., and practiced law in Boston.
