Arnold Schwarzenegger has apparently had enough of the attacks from Donald Trump, who again mocked the job Schwarzenegger has been doing as Trump’s replacement on the NBC reality show “The Apprentice” — and in particular, Schwarzenegger’s ratings.
Schwarzenegger posted a short video today on his Twitter account in which he addresses Trump directly. “Hey Donald,” Schwarzenegger says, “I have a great idea. Why don’t we switch jobs. You take over TV, because you’re such an expert in ratings, and I take over your job, and then people can finally sleep comfortably again.”
The two men have been going after each other publicly for some time. The latest exchange began when Trump targeted “The Apprentice” and Schwarzenegger, along with producer Mark Burnett, during the National Prayer Breakfast this morning. Trump remains an executive producer on the show.
Variety quotes Trump pointing out that the show “hired a big, big movie star” to replace Trump as host. “And we know how that turned out,” said Trump. “The ratings went right down the tubes; it’s been a total disaster. And Mark [Burnett] will never, ever bet against Trump again.”
Trump added: “I want to just pray for Arnold if we can — for those ratings.”
