Tim Allen Says Being a Conservative in Hollywood Is Like Living in Germany in the 1930s

Tim Allen attended Donald Trump’s inauguration, and apparently that didn’t sit well with some of his Hollywood colleagues. During an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Allen talked about what it’s like to not be in sync politically with the industry’s left-leaning views.

Here’s the clip …

  1. Funny, but as a mildly liberal Jew in Texas, I feel exactly the same way.

  2. Anyone who “admires” or follows Trumpy is a fool. So long T. Allen. No more from you.

  3. Keep complaining while you count the money you’ve made since the election.

  4. Be sure to tell that as well to the liberal stars who complain about Trump. You know, Clooney, Chelsea handler, Lena Dunham, and so on and so on.

  5. His answer was incomplete. Was he referring to Jews in Germany in the 1930s or non-Jewish German citizens in the 1930s? Kind of a huge distinction. 1920s Germany was a really sad time for everyone. But the ’30s marked a big change as German nationalism began to surge. To solidify the German identity they needed a scapegoat, an enemy to persecute. The Third Reich chose Jews.

Trump has apparently chosen Muslims and Mexicans, just to see which one sticks.

    • Oh, Jews are in there too. Well over 100 Jewish Community Centers have received bomb threats, swastikas have been spray painted on dozens of synagogues and homes, and many Jewish cemeteries have been vandalized. The Nazis are feeling their oats.

  6. The level of intolerance that is being displayed in the responses here and all over is amazing. The strength of the United States is its diversity and yet it appears that having a diverse or different opinion is unacceptable. I recommend people read Bill Bishop’s book “The Big Sort: Why the Clustering of Like-Minded America is Tearing Us Apart.” Regardless of opinions, beliefs or party affiliations, we can and should be better than this.
