History Comes to Life in New CNN Series Premiering Tonight

CNN rolls out a new documentary series with a twist tonight, focusing on key events in modern history through the lens of music. The series, “Soundtracks: Songs That Defined History,” comes from executive producers Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Maro Chermayeff and Jeff Dupre.

“Soundtracks: Songs That Defined History” premieres tonight, Thursday, April 20, at 10 p.m. ET/PT with an episode examining the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968. Other topics to be explored during the series include Vietnam and Kent State, Hurricane Katrina, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the first moon landing and the women’s rights movement.
