A reality show that was already resurrected once is being resurrected again — but it’s moving from NBC to MTV. The cable channel announced plans today to revive “Fear Factor.”

The new version, which MTV describes as a “reinvention,” premieres Tuesday, May 30, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. The show will be hosted and executive produced by Ludacris.

Twelve one-hour episodes are set to roll out.

“Filled with new stunts inspired by urban legends, popular scary movies and viral videos from today’s cultural zeitgeist, ‘Fear Factor’ contestants will confront their fears, be pushed beyond their comfort zones and take action against some of their biggest stressors,” MTV says in its announcement.

Hosted by Joe Rogan, the original “Fear Factor” chalked up six seasons on NBC from 2001-2006, then returned for one more cycle on the network from 2011-2012.
