We Have a New Most-Streamed Song of All Time

The new most-streamed track of all time, with more than 4.6 billion plays across all streaming platforms, is “Despacito,” by Puerto Rican artists Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, the AP reports.

Universal Music Latin Entertainment made the announcement Tuesday that the song, along with an accompanying remix featuring pop star Justin Bieber, had hit the milestone. The song surpassed another Bieber effort, his 2015 hit song “Sorry,” which is now No. 2 with 4.38 billion plays.

“‘Despacito,’ which was released in January, has been at the top of Billboard Hot 100 for weeks,” the AP notes. “Fonsi said in a statement that streaming has helped his music reach every corner of the planet.”

The YouTube video alone has chalked up more than 2.6 billion views, with at least some of its worldwide popularity perhaps attributable to the presence of Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera. Here it is …
