The Fox News Channel is saying goodbye to something that has been a feature of the cable channel for years: the rotating cube at the bottom of the screen.

Variety reported Monday that by today, Tuesday, Sept. 12, the cube would be gone from the channel.

“A Fox News spokesperson confirmed the cable-news network would jettison its cube as of Tuesday morning, replacing it with a flat ‘bug’ that will display the 21st Century Fox-owned network’s logo without forcing viewers to watch a piece of on-screen imagery that continues to shift in place,” Variety reported.

NewscastStudio was first to break the news, reporting Monday: “Fox News is expected to launch a new channel logo and ticker as well as lower-thirds and bug tomorrow morning beginning with ‘Fox & Friends First.’”
