A new comedy that just received a series order comes from three players with heavyweight comedy credentials. Partnering up for the untitled Netflix series are Amy Poehler (“Saturday Night Live,” “Parks and Recreation”), Natasha Lyonne (“Orange Is the New Black,” “American Pie”) and Leslye Headland (“Bachelorette,” “Sleeping With Other People”).

Lyonne will star in the series from Universal Television, which follows a young woman named Nadia on her journey as the guest of honor at a seemingly inescapable party one night in New York City.

The series has an eight-episode order from Netflix.

Said Lyonne: “So excited to get cracking with the intensely brilliant Leslye Headland, the GOAT with a heart of gold Amy Poehler, and Netflix, the safe haven I’ve been searching for since the ’80s. Deeply moved to work with such heavy hitters and to share our show with the world.”

Headland added: “These women are heroes of mine and to work with them at a company that promotes originality and creativity is a thrill.”

The series is co-created by Lyonne, Poehler and Headland, who all serve as executive producers, with Headland serving as writer for the first episode and Lyonne and Headland writers for the series.

The project is produced by Universal Television, Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions, JAX Media and 3 Arts Entertainment, with Brooke Posch serving as executive producer for Paper Kite and Dave Becky as executive producer for 3 Arts Entertainment.
