A number of different accounts are circulating about what went wrong with Warner Bros.’ plans for “Sex and the City 3,” but one thing is clear: The sequel is canceled.

The U.K. publication The Daily Mail broke the news Thursday, blaming Kim Cattrall’s “outrageous demands,” which brought a rebuttal from Cattrall.

“Warner Bros. had given the much-anticipated project the green light after months of speculation and the movie was supposed to start filming in the coming days,” The Daily Mail reports. “However, the studio can no longer move ahead as Cattrall, 61, demanded they produce other movies she had in development or she wouldn’t sign up for the project.”

Cattrall, who plays Samantha Jones on “Sex and the City,” responded today with a tweet saying the only demand she had made was that she did not want to do “Sex and the City 3.” You can see her tweet below.

E! News quotes a source saying the Daily Mail report is “totally untrue. There have been many different rumors and this is just fiction.”

The other three key players, actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, were all reportedly on board for the third movie.

Parker has reportedly confirmed that the movie is not happening.
