The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today released the list of 19 acts nominated for induction into the Hall in 2018 — a list that includes first-time nominees Dire Straits, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, the Moody Blues and Nina Simone.

Also nominated for the first time are Judas Priest, Kate Bush, Eurythmics and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Artists who have been nominated before and are back on the list are the J. Geils Band, Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode, the Cars, LL Cool J, the Meters, the MC5, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Link Wray and the Zombies.

Among the snubs: Soundgarden, whose frontman Chris Cornell died this year; Janet Jackson, who was nominated the past two years but was left off the list for 2018; and Kraftwerk, a previous four-time nominee.

The Hall of Fame inductees will be announced in December, with typically between five and seven artists being inducted. The induction ceremony will take place April 14 in Cleveland.
