ABC has given a production commitment to a drama project from the creators of the Freeform series “The Fosters.” Variety reports that the new series is a musical drama, “Harmony.”

“The series takes place in the town of Harmony, New York, where residents are known to sing and dance to express their emotions,” Variety reports. “When a murder shakes the town to its core, a detective who left the town as a teenager must return to help solve the crime.”

“Brad Bredeweg and Peter Paige, creators of ‘The Fosters,’ will write along with Jacob Chase,” Variety adds. “Bredeweg and Paige will executive produce with Chase co-executive producing. Jon Chu will also executive produce and direct the pilot. David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman, Laurie Zaks and Jonathon Komack-Martin will also executive produce. Grammy winner Stephen Schwartz and Five for Fighting’s John Ondraski will compose original music in addition to executive producing. ABC Studios will produce in association with Hoberman’s Mandeville Films.”
