CBS Sets Return Date for Its All Access ‘Star Trek’ Series

CBS unveiled plans today for Chapter 2 of “Star Trek: Discovery,” the new installment of the venerable “Star Trek” franchise that runs on the CBS All Access subscription service.

The second chapter, containing the remaining six episodes of the show’s first season, will roll out starting Sunday, Jan. 7, with the season finale to come out Feb. 11.

The finale of Chapter 1 becomes available for streaming this Sunday, Nov. 12, after 8:30 p.m. ET.

The second chapter of “Star Trek: Discovery” begins with episode 10, “Despite Yourself.” In today’s announcement, CBS says of the episode: “While in unfamiliar territory, the U.S.S. Discovery crew is forced to get creative in their next efforts to survive opposing and unprecedented forces and return home.”

The show’s cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Jason Isaacs, Anthony Rapp, Michelle Yeoh, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Mary Chieffo and James Frain.
