Will Patrick Stewart Reprise His Role as ‘Star Trek’ Captain Jean-Luc Picard?

With a new “Star Trek” project in the works, Patrick Stewart, a franchise icon for his role as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in “The Next Generation,” said that despite his frequently expressed reluctance to reprise the role, he might be interested.

That’s because Quentin Tarantino is on board, working on a new idea for the movie franchise along with J.J. Abrams, with Tarantino expected to direct.

The Hollywood Reporter, which caught up with Stewart while he was at the Dubai International Film Festival to receive an honorary award, quotes the actor saying: “People are always saying to me, ‘Will you be Jean-Luc Picard again?’ And I cannot think that would be possible, but there are ways in which something like that might come about.”

Stewart adds: “But one of my dreams is to work with Tarantino. I admire his work so much, and to be in a Tarantino film would give me so much satisfaction. So, if he is going to direct something to do with Star Trek and there was the possibility of dear old Jean-Luc showing up again and doing that for Mr Tarantino, I would embrace it.”
