HBO, NBC Among Biggest Winners at SAG Awards

Two HBO shows and an NBC series were among the top winners in the television categories at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, as NBC’s “This Is Us” claimed the coveted award for outstanding drama series cast along with outstanding actor in a drama series for Sterling K. Brown, while HBO gathered hardware for “Big Little Lies” and perennial award magnet “Veep.”

“Veep” won for comedy series cast along with a win for Julia Louis-Dreyfus for actress in a comedy series. “Big Little Lies” won for both actor and actress in a movie or miniseries, with trophies going to Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgard.

Other winners in the television categories were Claire Foy for actress in a drama series for the Netflix show “The Crown,” William H. Macy for actor in a comedy series for Showtime’s “Shameless” and HBO’s “Game of Thrones” for stunt ensemble.

The Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award went to Morgan Freeman.
