NBC has placed a series order for a new period drama from “Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes. Deadline reports that “The Gilded Age” received an order for 10 episodes, with the series to premiere in 2019.

The project, described by Deadline as “a sweeping fictional epic of the millionaire titans of New York City in the 1880s,” has reportedly been in the works at NBC since 2012, but was placed on a back burner while Fellowes focused on his global hit “Downton Abbey.” The hit ITV/PBS series wrapped in 2015.

The new series will be produced by Universal Television and executive produced by Fellowes and fellow “Downton Abbey” executive producer Gareth Neame.
