The new series from Adam DiVello, creator of “The Hills” and “Laguna Beach,” is set to debut March 1 on CMT, and the cable channel recently released a first-look clip for the docuseries, “Music City,” which you can watch below.

As the title suggests, the series is focused on Nashville and the country music business. The show tracks the lives of five central characters — Kerry, Rachyl, Jessica, Jackson and Alisa — as they pursue dreams of success, fame and romance.

The new series arrives as CMT is on a bit of a ratings roll.

“Propelled by new episodes of ‘Nashville,’ ‘Hot 20 Countdown,’ a simulcast of the hit Paramount Network limited-run series ‘Waco,’ and strong-performing acquisitions and movie titles, January 2018 now ranks as CMT’s highest-rated month in over three years, and marked the 14th consecutive month of year-over-year ratings growth among Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49,” the network noted in an announcement today. “Last quarter, CMT generated the highest year-over-year gains of any Top 50 ad-supported entertainment cable channel among Women 18-49.
