The most pirated television show this spring is averaging 3.9 million illegal downloads per episode, reports TorrentFreak.com. The show is HBO’s "Game of Thrones."

The illegal downloading numbers were highest in Australia, which is partly because the show airs a week later there than in the U.S., the story notes. "Game of Thrones," which is available legally only to HBO subscribers, has an average of 4.2 million legal viewers, the story notes.

The second most pirated show is "How I Met Your Mother," with about 2.8 million illegal downloads per episode. The others on the list include "The Big Bang Theory" (2.75 million illegal downloads); "House" (2.3 million); and "Mad Men" (1.87 million).
