Dunno about you, but we’re always misplacing our remote control for our TV. So get this: A company called L5 Technologies has submitted to Apple an app that will let an iPhone act as a universal remote control for a TV, including your set top box and DVD player, reports Business Insider.

According to the article: "L5 Technologies is going to sell a little infrared piece of hardware for $50 that plugs into the iPhone and turns it into a remote. L5 will also have an accompanying app."

The article explains, "You just aim the L5 remote at your remote and program it. From there you customize buttons inside the application."

The article says that L5 is expecting Apple to approve the app "any day now."
