3D TV Version of ‘MythBusters’ Under Discussion

The 3D channel that’s scheduled to debut next year — a joint venture between Discovery, Imax and Sony — is considering shooting some episodes of "MythBusters" in native 3D, reports The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

The network would look to create productions of "MythBusters" designed for 3D, rather than just shooting regular "MythBusters" episodes with 3D cameras, the story notes.

The 2D version of the show would continue to air on the Discovery Channel, while the 3D version would land on the new channel, the article adds. While the new network is interested in the idea, there isn’t yet a deal, the story says.

  1. Is it just me, or has Mythbusters become tedious this year?
Really? “Do you get cold feet?” “Taking candy from a baby?”
Have they run out of myths that they’re spending air time exploring common sayings?

  2. Love Mythbuster!! But won’t be springing for a 3D TV just to see it this way. As long as they’re doing the 3-D channel, how about some episodes of Stormchasers in 3-D?? Now THAT would be awesome!
