Cancer Scare for Jane Fonda. Fortunately, It’s Non-Invasive

Two-time Oscar-winning actress Jane Fonda had a cancer scare a few weeks ago, Entertainment Weekly reports.

According to the story, "The actress and fitness icon discovered a small tumor in her breast during a routine checkup. The cancer luckily turned out to be non-invasive. She underwent a procedure a few days ago to remove the tumor, and she says that she is now cancer free."

Fonda will be 73 next month.

Although the story provided no further information about the type of non-invasive tumor Fonda had, we found the following on the website of the American Cancer Society: "Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS; also known as intraductal carcinoma) is the most common type of non-invasive breast cancer. DCIS means that the cancer cells are inside the ducts but have not spread through the walls of the ducts into the surrounding breast tissue. About 1 in 5 new breast cancer cases will be DCIS. Nearly all women diagnosed at this early stage of breast cancer can be cured."

  1. How ironic, that on this veteran’s day people were actually concerned that a known traitor ‘escaped’ cancer!
Don’t count me among the ‘concerned.”
