Fox’s Greta Van Susteren Attacks Party Held By CNN

Greta Van Susteren has criticized a party thrown by CNN, though we’re not sure why she would care.

One difference between Fox News and CNN, according to Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren, is that Fox News doesn’t hold with any "fancy" launch parties for a new cable show, reports Mediaite.com.

Van Susteren noted on her Greta Wire blog how different the two networks appear to her, taking a look at the launch party CNN threw for Piers Morgan on Tuesday night for his new show. "I can’t imagine Fox News Channel or friend of Fox News Channel having some fancy “launch party” at a fancy NYC upper east side address with a bunch of celebrities for a new cable news show. It seems so out of touch with the rest of the country, doesn’t it?," she wrote. "At Fox we just get hired and go to work (and we are very glad to have our jobs!) We can celebrate later (and we have.)"

The New York Times’ Media Decoder blog, meanwhile, points out that when Fox Business debuted, News Corp. threw a launch party in 2007 at the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Counting Crows played at the party, while giant topiary letters spelled ‘Fox Business,’ the article notes.

  1. Greta V.S. is as humorlous as when I first saw her on W*USA-TV. Really great legal mind… but really? Bagging on a party? It’s a part of the business. Oooooh those CNN folks are really villains for making every effort to bring attention to a new show. Bad bad CNN.
Grow up and Cheer up Greta. It only makes you look bad.

  2. Piers Morgan’s show is not a “news” show. It is interviews. Some may be newsmakers, but looking at the first week it seems tilted to entertainment. A party seems appropriate. I think her biggest issue is that she wasn’t invited.

  3. No matter how lavish CNN’s party, you just can’t get rid of that stench of cimunism that surrounds them.
