Quick Takes: What was the best premiere or season debut of a series you’ve seen so far this fall, and why?

“I really liked ‘Journeyman’. I found it a well written, produced and acted series debut, and a truly unique concept. Time travel happens to be one of my favorite story subjects, so this was great. Still, I’ll hold out for the upcoming ‘Battlestar Galactica’ premiere to reserve judgment of ‘best of the best.’”
Clay Lorance, creative director, Stephen Arnold Music
“I think ‘CSI: NY’ has hit a new level, and the premiere showed a lot more depth to the characters and introduced new mysteries and nemeses that can propel the show this season. In fact, ‘CSI: NY’ could emerge as the strongest of its siblings.”
John Barker, president, DZP Communications
“So far this season, I think it’s been NBC’s ‘Bionic Woman’. This season, it was critical for NBC to create another strong night. Not only did ‘Bionic’ beat ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ and ‘Private Practice’ in the 18-49 demo in its premiere, it’s the first scripted series with promise in that time slot for NBC since ‘The West Wing.'”
