DIC Entertainment has launched Kewl Cartoons, a dedicated online video channel and interactive community for children and families.
The 24/7 on-demand content will include both new and classic DIC cartoons, such as “Dino Squad,” “Inspector Gadget” and “The Littles.”
Kewl Cartoons also will serve as a portal to Horseland, a virtual pet game; MommyAndMe, an online community for new mothers; and the DIC corporate site.
Plans for the site were outlined Wednesday by DIC President-Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Edell, in an announcement that also named Frederic Soulie to the new position of head of interactive at DIC.
“We are thrilled to have Fred’s expertise in new media, particularly his experience in the areas of development and operations from MySpace and various other ventures,” said Mr. Edell. Soulie comes to DIC from Intermix Media, the publicly traded parent company of MySpace.
