Sundance Channel Puts Redford Upfront and Center

Mar 13, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Robert Redford will be participating in upfront advertising meetings for the Sundance Channel.
The network does not air commercials, but has been expanding its branded entertainment and sponsorship efforts.
Mr. Redford’s presence is “our way of telling our agency partners that we are serious about our relationships with their clients, and who better to express our commitment than the man that created this dynamic brand,” said Kirk Iwanowski, executive VP for marketing, branded entertainment and sponsorship at Sundance Channel.
“Our goal is to tell sponsors that we are creative thinkers and, although we don’t air ‘traditional’ advertising on the linear network, we collaborate with our partners to create bold, innovative marketing platforms to achieve their specific objectives.”
Advertisers including Lexus, Citi Smith Barney, Cadillac, Grey Goose, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft and Stella Artois have done sponsorship deals with the Sundance Channel.
