Industry Standards Set for Online Advertising

Feb 2, 2009  •  Post A Comment

A group of podcasters, in conjunction with industry group the Association for Downloadable Media, today introduced a set of standards for advertising in programs delivered on the Web.
The ADM said many of its members have been supporting standard practices on their own and now are banding together to publicly support standards to make ad buying easier in episodic online content.
Ad units that have been standardized include pre-, mid- and post-roll ads, product placement and host shoutouts.
The standards should enable marketers to create ad units they can run in multiple podcast networks, in shows, with independent creators and as part of a larger campaign.
Participating companies include NPR, Personal Life Media, Podtrac, Revision3 and Volomedia.
