Mel Gibson Set as Post-Oscars Guest on ‘Kimmel’

Last year, Jimmy Kimmel devoted his post-Oscar show to “F***king Ben Affleck.” This year, Mr. Kimmel will be chatting with Mel Gibson.
Mr. Gibson, a two-time Academy Award winner, has been booked as a guest on this Sunday’s post-kudos edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC announced Friday. Crooner Robin Thicke is set to perform.
ABC also teased that “one of Hollywood’s biggest movie stars” will appear with Mr. Kimmel during a promo for “Kimmel” set to air during ABC’s broadcast of the Oscars.
Mr. Gibson has kept a relatively low media profile since his 2006 drunk-driving arrest and subsequent allegations that he made anti-Semitic remarks. ABC’s Diane Sawyer interviewed Mr. Gibson a few months after his arrest.
The Oscar edition of “Kimmel” will air on ABC stations after late local newscasts Sunday.
There’s no word yet on whether Mr. Kimmel is planning another viral video like last year’s ode to Mr. Affleck.
