The Walt Disney Co., whose divisions include ABC and ESPN, spent $1.7 million lobbying the government during the third quarter, the Associated Press reports. The company’s subsidiary, Disney, lobbied on legislation ranging from tax treatment of film productions, theme park safety, protecting children on the Internet and intellectual property, the AP says. Also lobbied by Walt Disney Co. were the White House, the Commerce Department, the Justice Department, the Library of Congress, the Federal Communications Commission and U.S. Customs & Border Protection, among others.
