After submitting a video message for Chicago’s bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympics and telling “60 Minutes” he’d support an effort to get the BCS to change to a playoff post-season format, Advertising Age is calling Barack Obama “sports marketing’s new best friend.” “If he can help institute a college football playoff, and if he’s instrumental in bringing the Olympics to Chicago, the money is going to be staggering,” said Don Hinchey, VP at sports marketing firm the Bonham Group.
