The CW had a big night in the ratings Wednesday, with its best number for a premiere since “The Vampire Diaries,” E! Online reports.

The new drama “Arrow” premiered to 4.02 million viewers and a 1.3 average rating in the key 18-49 demo, according to Nielsen overnight figures. That made it CW’s top-rated drama since 2010.

Leading out from the “Arrow” premiere, CW’s “Supernatural” settled for a 1.0 average in 18-49 (up from a 0.8 a week ago) and 2.59 million viewers.

That gave the channel an average of 3.30 million total viewers for prime time with a 1.2 average rating in the 18-49 demo — still behind the big 4 and Univision, but a strong performance for the CW.
