ABC’s ‘Happy Endings’ May Find a Way to Avoid a Sad Ending for the Series

ABC’s "Happy Endings" may find itself avoiding a tragic ending even if the network decides to cancel it, because the leading studio behind the show is talking with other networks about picking it up, reports Deadline.com.

The possibilities include USA Network and NBC, with USA expressing interest in picking it up if the show is canceled.

That would help USA build up its half-hour comedies, after the cable channel has ordered several pilots but hasn’t yet greenlighted one, the piece points out.

USA has wanted to find an original comedy to pair with its off-network run of "Modern Family," and "Happy Endings" would fit especially well given that the two shows were paired together for two seasons on ABC, the story says.
