Viewers Turn Out for New Show From Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria

The new drama series from Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria got a warm reception for its premiere Sunday night on Lifetime. The cable channel announced that “Devious Maids” averaged 2.0 million total viewers for the premiere.

Based on Nielsen Research figures, the series also averaged 865,000 adults 25-54, 826,000 adults 18-49, 662,000 women 25-54 and 633,000 women 18-49, Lifetime announced.

The series stars Ana Ortiz of “Ugly Betty,” Dania Ramirez of “Entourage,” Roselyn Sanchez of “Without a Trace,” Edy Ganem of “Livin’ Loud” and Judy Reyes of “Scrubs” as maids working for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.

The show, from ABC Studios, was inspired by the hit telenovela “Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar” and is executive produced by Cherry, Longoria, Sabrina Wind, Paul McGuigan, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass and Televisa USA’s Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.
