Why Alyssa Milano Is Leaving ABC’s ‘Mistresses’

Actress Alyssa Milano is giving up her starring role in ABC’s drama series “Mistresses” to focus on being a mom, USA Today reports, with her decision prompted by the show’s move from L.A. to Vancouver.

Milano gave birth to a daughter, Elizabella, on Sept. 4. Milano and her husband, David Bugliari, also have a 3-year-old son, Milo.

Milano posted a message on her website that says in part: “After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of ‘Mistresses’ in Vancouver, Canada for financial reasons. It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can’t relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just can not uproot my children and separate the family by moving away.”

  1. Good for her. It is nice to see someone in her position put their family first. Unfortunately, it is also another example of how the current administration is driving jobs out of the U.S.

  2. It would not surprise me to learn that they moved to Vancouver to get rid of her. Alyssa Milano should not have had top billing and was the weak link of this show. The other characters, and their storylines, were a lot more fun.

  3. Bravo for her!

She’s setting a wonderful example by putting her kids ahead of her career.

  4. Shannen Doherty would be the prefect choice to replace Allisa on the show. A much better actress and so much prettier too.

  5. There’s no doubt in my mind that this is just publicity to save face. Alyssa Milano looks awful, there was no way anyone would believe that all these men were in love with her. I am sure the producers wanted to get rid of the weakest link. She’s not a good actress, came across as annoying. I am very glad to know that there will be a season 3 and look forward to a new and improved Savannah!!
