Comedy legend Jerry Lewis, who died in August of heart failure at age 91, made it clear in his will that he didn’t want any of the children from his first marriage to get a piece of his estate. The Blast, which obtained a copy of the Last Will and Testament executed by Lewis in 2012, reports that he excluded all six kids from that marriage from his will.

“Lewis states he intentionally excludes Gary Lewis, Ronald Lewis, Anthony Joseph Lewis, Christopher Joseph Lewis, Scott Anthony Lewis, and Joseph Cristopher Lewis from benefiting off his estate in any way.  He notes that Joseph, who died of a drug overdose in 2009, is deceased,” The Blast reports.

The report adds: “The comedian had all six of the omitted kids with ex-wife Patti Palmer; they were married from 1944-1980.”

One of the kids, Gary Lewis, is a well-known musician who fronted Gary Lewis & the Playboys. The band had a number of hits in the ’60s, including the No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single “This Diamond Ring” in 1965.

“Lewis did leave his potentially massive estate to widow, SanDee, and states that next in line is their 25-year-old adopted daughter Danielle,” The Blast reports. “Jerry and SanDee adopted Danielle in 1992 and afterwards the comedian reportedly cut his six other kids out of his life completely.”

  1. They say Jerry Lewis was as a$$hole. This surely proves he was.

    • I knew him when I was in my teens. His boat was docked next to ours. He was beyond an a-hole. He was an inconsiderate, sick pr*ck. And I’m being kind. Sorry his kids got screwed over, glad he’s dead. Yeah, I know how that sounds but you never witnessed his awfulness in action. Good riddance.

  2. WOW !!!! Well, there’s something obviously going on there that the general public has no idea about, I just wish I knew what it was!

  3. It happens all of the time…

  4. I think he did right thing most kids don’t care about old parents anyway the only time they come around is when they want something plus it’s his money he could do with it what he wanted too

  5. In life we often get hurt by others and in turn cause hurt to others. My prayer is that his boys will not allow their father’s actions to cause bitterness which would do more to hurt them than their father’s initial slight.

  6. you all are making all sorts of assumptions about a family you don’t even know and a matter that’s completely private.

  7. Amen Ra in l.a.

  8. Why don’t the disinherited children sue to invalidate the will claiming testator (deceased’s) incompetence at the time he wrote the last will when he was in his 80s and undue influence by the new wife?

It’s not private, it’s a will. It becomes public knowledge. If he had wanted to make it private, he would have made an irrevocable trust.

  10. Riggarob, I believe RM in LA was referring to the reasons behind the disinheritance. It makes me laugh when people get all upset with what a person does with their money. It is, after all, their own money to distribute as they see fit. If they want to continue a grudge in their after death, that is their own business. I’m guessing from what others haves said, the kids were better off without him.
