Peter Fonda Apologizes for Tweet About Trump’s Son; U.S. Secret Service Alerted

“The United States Secret Service has been alerted in response to a tweet by actor Peter Fonda, who said Barron Trump — President Donald Trump’s youngest son — should be separated from his mother and put ‘in a cage with pedophiles,'” CNN reports.

The tweet from Fonda, which has since been deleted, reportedly says: “We should rip Barron Trump from his mother’s arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if mother will stand up against the giant a–hole she is married to. 90 million people in the streets on the same weekend in the country. F—.”

CNN reports: “First lady Melania Trump’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, called the tweet ‘sick and irresponsible,’ adding that the Secret Service has been notified. A Secret Service spokesman said the agency is aware of the tweet but declined to comment, citing the agency’s practice of not speaking about protective matters.”

Fonda, who sent out the tweet in anger over Trump’s immigration policy separating families, later issued an apology, which has been widely reported in the media, in which he said: “I tweeted something highly inappropriate and vulgar about the president and his family in response to the devastating images I was seeing on television.

“Like many Americans, I am very impassioned and distraught over the situation with children separated from their families at the border, but I went way too far. It was wrong and I should not have done it. I immediately regretted it and sincerely apologize to the family for what I said and any hurt my words have caused.”

  1. Wow, Fonda stooped to Trump’s level of nastiness. How terrible.

  2. Well, I’m not sorry for having read and agreed with the sentiment being it. OF COURSE, he’s not actually wanting dipshits’s son raped. It’s only distasteful in that the analogous situation that is Actually Happening to other people’s children is beyoooond distasteful – and all Trump’s fault.

  4. Nothing, NOTHING, can excuse or explain away this horrendous tweet. Trump’s supposed “nastiness” does not excuse the twisted hate from people like Fonda. And his tweet about Secy Nielsen was even worse.

  5. Are you kidding me?! Are you unaware that these dangers have always been there?! You personally are doing nothing about anything. Right?? Have you adopted a child, monetarily through one of the many international organizations? Have you paid the rent for one month of any of these families? Talk is cheap. This isn’t compassion. Have you moved to Latin America or any other oppressed country and created a compound to protect people? Have you written your congressman, to advocate taking over these other countries, to show them the right way to run a country? Have you made steps to become leader of these other countries? What about all the other people left behind, in those countries? This is stupidity and bullying. Instead of criticizing, everyone needs to come up with solutions. Every cup of water will eventually create a full pool. You’re just poking holes in the sidewall.

  6. If I was only rich and famous I could tweet anything I wanted about anyone, apologize for it, and all would be forgiven. If I’d tweeted the same thing as Fonda, the Secret Service would be knocking on my door and who knows what would happen to me. But, as I will never be rich and famous, I’ll try to never send any tweets that have the government knocking on my door.

However, I do have two questions. If a US citizen commits a crime and goes to jail can they take my kids with them or would they be separated? Answer is they would be separated. Why do people get more upset about how non-US citizens are treated than US citizens? Just curious.

  7. What Roseanne Barr said comes no where close to Peter Fonda’s tweets. Why has he not been ridden out of town on a rail? Why has he not been driven out of Hollywood and all his movies pulled from circulation? So rape of women & children is OK, just don’t say something racist? I am so disgusted with liberal Hollywood’s hypocrisy.
