A journalist who was one of the casualties of a controversial story last year at CNN has just landed a new job at CBS News. The New York Post reports that Lex Haris, the former head of CNN Investigates, was named interim head of CBSNews.com.
Haris and two other CNN staffers resigned in June 2017 over a story about alleged collusion between Russia and members of Donald Trump’s campaign staff. The story was later retracted, and CNN accepted the resignations of Haris, reporter Thomas Frank and editor Eric Lichtblau.
News of his new job surfaced in an internal memo at CBS, The Post reports. Haris had reportedly been running CBS’s MoneyWatch on an interim basis.
He replaces Nancy Lane, who was promoted to VP and senior executive producer, programming and development.
