Carey: DirecTV is Liberty Focus Multichannel

DirecTV Chief Executive Officer Chase Carey called the U.S. satellite leader a “centerpiece” to major shareholder Liberty Media's strategy, Multichannel News reports. Liberty, which swapped for News Corp.'s 41% stake in DirecTV, has fewer conflicts of interest than News Corp., Multichannel News says, citing Mr. Carey.
