Interest in the debate over health care reform propelled Fox News Channel to its highest primetime numbers in its target 25-to-54 year-old demo audience for the year, says B&C.

Compared to August 2008, which was dominated by election and Democratic National Convention coverage, Fox posted double-digit increases for the month in total primetime viewers and in the demo, while CNN posted double-digit declines.

MSNBC was off slightly in total viewers and down double digits, as well, in the demo. CNN finished second to Fox in total viewers in primetime, while MSNBC finished second in the demo.
