Leno Recycled Material for White House Correspondents' Dinner Politico

Attendees at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner must have felt they were watching a rerun, as Jay Leno used material from his monologues on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "The Jay Leno Show" during his set at the dinner, Politico reports.

Side-by-side comparisons of episodes of Leno's show versus his performance at the dinner show nearly identical jokes.

For example, this quip is from the March 22 episode of “The Tonight Show”: "Supporters of the bill say the American people now get the same health benefits members of Congress get, which is great. See, if we could just get some of those other perks: The free travel, the envelopes with the cash in them, the get-out-of-jail-free cards…."

And this joke is from Saturday’s routine: "Supporters of the bill say that the American people will now get the same health benefits that members of Congress get, which is great. How about some of the other perks? The free travel, those envelopes with the cash in them, how about some of that? The get-out-of-jail-free cards. Why can’t we get that?"

Politico claims that at least 3 of Lenos jokes were recycled from his previous shows. The article also said that "White House Correspondents Association president Edwin Chen declined to comment. A representative for Leno declined official comment."
