Feud Puts Golden Globes Broadcast in Jeopardy

The upcoming broadcast of the Golden Globes may be the last unless dick clark productions and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association succeed in negotiating a new contract, reports TheWrap.

The 2011 broadcast marks the end of the contract between the parties and the two sides have been feuding about future productions. The HFPA was miffed when dcp unilaterally made a new seven-year deal for NBC to air the ceremonies.

The parties have been in business together since the 1980s, the story says, but HFPA filed a lawsuit against dick clark productions in October, after the NBC deal. Reportedly, the underlying tensions have more to do with production costs than with the NBC contract, the story says, with HFPA accusing dcp of inflating its costs.
