The former star of "Xena: Warrior Princess" is joining a freshman ABC series that may or may not earn a second season on the network, reports TVLine.com.

Lucy Lawless has a five episode-commitment with “No Ordinary Family,” playing a lady who has an ax to grind against the Powell family and the power to do some damage.

Lawless’ episodes are slated for the end of the season, in part to create a possible cliffhanger for season two … if ABC renews the sci-fi program.
