Actress Upset With ABC's 'Nightline' Over Interview Access Hollywood

The former partner of actor Heath Ledger, who died in 2008 as the result of an accidental drug overdose, is angry with ABC News’ “Nightline” over its editing of a three-hour interview she gave the show, Access Hollywood reports.

Actress Michelle Williams, who earned an Oscar nomination for “Brokeback Mountain” and currently stars in the indie hit "Blue Valentine," accuses the show of editing the interview in a way that misrepresented her comments about Ledger, the story says.

She told Kevin Sessums of The Daily Beast, “They used those few quotes and the way they edited the piece to sell the interview, and it appeared as if I were breaking some kind of silence and sitting down with the express purpose to discuss something that is very private to me.”

ABC News defended the interview by Cynthia McFadden and said through a spokesperson, “The interview speaks for itself. Like all our work, it was done fairly and thoughtfully."

Some advice for her. A journalism teacher once told me:

"Never argue with anyone who buys ink by the barell or videotape by the case."
