The premiere of the second season of "Hot in Cleveland" sizzled on Wednesday night, with almost 3 million viewers tuning into the return of TV Land’s first original sitcom, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.

The show performed best with viewers between the ages of 25 to 54, placing as the most-watched scripted show on cable within that demographic during its 10 p.m. time slot, the article notes.

"Hot in Cleveland," which stars the red-hot octogenarian Betty White, Janes Leeves, Wendie Malick, and Valerie Bertinelli, created a sizable lead-in for TV Land’s new sitcom, "Retired at 35," the article notes. The new comedy stars George Segal, Malick’s co-star on "Just Shoot Me," and drew an average of more than 2 million viewers. That’s a doubling over TV Land’s prime-time average, the article notes.
