The next television home for Keith Olbermann, who abruptly left MSNBC in January, is said to be Al Gore’s Current TV, reports the New York Times’ Media Decoder blog.

The article says that neither Olbermann or Current TV representatives would comment, but they didn’t deny that the network would become part of Olbermann’s future plans.

The report adds that Olbermann will have an equity stake in the cable channel co-founded by former Vice President Gore.

The story notes that Current TV has scheduled a presentation with advertisers for Wednesday afternoon, Feb,. 9, 2011 to discuss the network’s plans, since snaring Olbermann would help boost its profile.

Current TV is available in about 60 million homes and is included on the digital tier of cable operators’ systems. Olbermann’s former home, MSNBC, is able to reach a broader audience since it’s available in 85 million homes and is usually a basic cable option, the article notes.
