Ratings for the big three-hour finale of ABC’s reality staple “The Bachelor,” while strong enough to push the network to an overall win for the night, were down a troubling 15% from the show’s spring 2010 finale, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Monday finale was the lowest for the series in almost three years, the story says.

ABC won the night anyway in the 18-49 demo with an average rating of 4.5, with Fox second (2.7 average), CBS third (2.1), Univision fourth (1.6) and NBC fifth (1.5), according to TVbytheNumbers.com.

ABC also won total viewers, averaging 13.8 million for the night, followed by Fox (8.8 million), CBS (7.6 million), Univision (4.1 million) and NBC (3.4 million).

  1. No surprise in our house. This guy was uncomfortable to watch. Memo to ABC: Don’t choose psychologically-damaged hunks. Women want to follow a self-confident (and good-looking) guy, not a guy racked with self-doubt.
