Oprah Gets Taken Down a Notch on Forbes’ Celebrity Power List–So Who Replaced Her at No. 1?

Oprah Winfrey lost her grip on the No. 1 spot on Forbes’ annual “Celebrity 100” power list, and the person who took her spot used social media, among other things, to rise to the top, Reuters reported.

Moving into the No. 1 position was pop music superstar Lady Gaga, who moved up four positions from last year.

"Lady Gaga beat Oprah this year because of her social media power,” said Forbes editor Dorothy Pomerantz. “She can use Twitter and Facebook to work the ‘little monsters’ into a frenzy that leads to record sales and media attention. She’s the best example of how celebrities will need to manage their careers in the coming years."

Winfrey dropped one position from last year to No. 2, followed by Justin Bieber, U2, Elton John, Tiger Woods, Taylor Swift, rock band Bon Jovi, Simon Cowell and LeBron James.
